Girls’ Day 2025 at Thomann
On Girls’ Day 2025, twelve young women visited us in Treppendorf to gain exciting insights into our various technical and craft-related career fields – far away from gender stereotypes. Right from the start, the girls had the opportunity to get to know each other and learn more about Thomann as a company. Our apprentice coordinator, Anja Nüßlein, provided an informative overview of our apprenticeship programs and dual study opportunities.
Technical Fascination: Light, Sound and Electronics
Then it was time to get hands-on: In our PA/DJ, lighting, electronics, and guitar workshops, the girls demonstrated their craftsmanship and technical skills. For three hours, they soldered, repaired, tinkered, and mixed with such enthusiasm that our pros were truly impressed. During a tour of various departments, they got a behind-the-scenes look at our logistics, workshops, and other areas. They also got to see the lighting and sound equipment used for major concerts by world-renowned artists.
A definite highlight: Behind our store, the participants got to try out a spark machine for themselves, which was met with big eyes and excitement. The coolest part? The machine cools the sparks as they spray, so you can actually hold your hand in the sparkling shower.
Insights into Career Fields and Opportunities
Sales:
What would a concert be without sound and light? Whether in the store, by phone, chat or email, our PA/DJ and lighting department offers expert advice in both English and German. Beyond sales, it’s all about the precise setup of light and sound equipment for live events, stages or studios. The maintenance of the equipment and the design of the display areas are also part of the job – as well as the chance to constantly develop with the latest technology. In the store, our music professionals are ready to provide personalized advice, find custom solutions, and share their passion for music gear.

Workshops:
Our workshops are dedicated to repair, maintenance, and customer service, whether it’s for electronic components or instruments. In the electronics workshop, defective parts are identified, repaired or replaced, and customer inquiries by phone or e-mail are handled professionally – always with an eye on effort and cost-efficiency. The instrument workshop combines traditional craftsmanship with modern expertise: instruments of all kind are built, restored, and brought back to top form through precise work such as soldering, painting, sanding, or polishing – often in close coordination with service partners.
