Female Songwriting Camp in the South of France

Inspiration Between Vineyards and the Recording Studio

In September, at an old vineyard in Limoux, not far from Toulouse in southern France, we invited 12 female musicians to make music together as part of the Thomann Female Songwriting Camp. Surrounded by the inspiring, picturesque setting of the Limusic Studios, four days produced not only 13 new songs but also a sense of community, trust, and creative freedom.

With the goal of connecting, exchanging ideas, and supporting one another, the songwriters, musicians, and producers spent their days in writing sessions with various lineups. This time, the participants included:

DOOLIE, Milan Ring, Revelle, Emily Roberts, Cloudy June, ENYA BOBAN, Antonia Buchner, Wilhelmine, SALOMEA, LNA, Robine, NOVAA

From the First Idea to the Final Track – All Self-Made

Each day began with a shared breakfast, followed by hours of creative work. Sometimes it got loud, sometimes quiet — fast or slow — and often emotional. The diversity of the songs reflects the unique creativity of each artist, yet every track emerged as a true collaboration. The musicians supported one another, co-produced the songs, and played all the instruments themselves. The credits belong entirely to them.

Every evening, the group came together for a listening session — one of the most emotional moments of the day. The newly written songs were played back, and the artists shared the stories behind their lyrics and what inspired them. Songwriting is often a deeply personal process, a way to process emotions, which is why creating a safe and inspiring space was essential. The open landscape, the calm, and the sense of escaping everyday life for a few days helped many to let go and fully embrace the here and now.

Let’s return to the South of France and relive the most beautiful moments.

More Information

Alongside the music, the focus was also on sharing experiences and discussing the challenges of being a woman in the music industry. Over shared lunches and dinners, relaxing poolside sessions, and passionate karaoke nights, there was plenty of space for honest conversations and connection. It was clear how valuable this environment was — a space to uplift, inspire, and empower one another.

One song has already seen the light of the public world. ‘Weihnachten mit Dir’ by Wilhelmine, Revelle, and Antonia Buchner put us in the Christmas spirit back in the summer and now it will do the same for you.

Strong Partners for Strong Artists

A huge thank-you goes out to our partners Shure, Taylor Guitars, iZotope and Native Instruments, whose support made this camp possible — and to the team at Limusic Studio for creating such a warm and inspiring atmosphere. The planning, organization, and on-site coordination were led by our marketing project managers, Laura and Susi, with strong support from Sara (Social Media Manager) and Laura (Video and Photographer). The team was rounded out by Amelie from RAW SOUL Productions.

After four intense and inspiring days, we leave with new songs, meaningful connections, and full hearts. For the second year in a row, the camp has shown just how much can be created when space is made for women artists to connect and express themselves freely. We can’t wait to see which song from the camp will be released next into the world. Until then, we highly recommend checking out the music already released by our talented artists.
