Celebrating
one year of “Behind the Passion”

A year ago, our documentary Behind the Passion premiered at our internal Christmas party. It was the first time all Thomann employees, together with our CEO Hans, watched the finished film, sharing an emotional, honest, and tearful experience.

A lot has happened since then. The documentary not only sparked excitement internally, but also received major recognition beyond our company. We remain incredibly proud of this project, which portrays the personality of Hans, the Thomann family, and the heart of the company in such an authentic and relatable way.

This courage to show true authenticity has paid off several times over:

Cannes Corporate Media & Video Awards – Silver Award in the category Corporate Online Media
Art Directors Club (ADC) – Bronze in the category Documentary Film
WorldMediaFestivals – Gold in the category Company Philosophy and Portrait

In today’s fast-paced media world, these awards prove that real stories – even 20 minutes long – can truly move people.

Behind the Passion has been the biggest film project in our company’s history to date. Over several months, a ten-person team followed Hans in his daily life: in the office, in the store, in logistics, and even in private moments. The film takes you on a journey through time: for the flashback scenes, the Thomann store of the 1950s and 1970s was faithfully recreated, complete with original instruments and family stories.

Christmas movies are wonderful but real stories are even better. And right now, during the holiday season, it’s the perfect time to watch the documentary again, whether on your own, with friends, or with family. Don’t forget the popcorn and tissues!
