Thomann at
the 2nd Gong Symposium 2026

Three days full of sound and inspiration

From 12 to 14 June 2026, we took part in the 2nd Gong Symposium at Tagungshaus Lebensbogen in Zierenberg near Kassel. For three days, everything revolved around gongs, singing bowls, vibration and the practical use of sound instruments.

For our Classic Drums team, the symposium was a valuable opportunity to make our instruments tangible on site and to speak directly with people who work with sound every day: in therapy, coaching, meditation, music or on stage.

A line-up that truly resonated

The programme brought together concerts, talks, workshops and immersive sound experiences. Topics ranged from modern gong practice, gong and vibration therapy, and storytelling through sound to social media for sound practitioners, titanium gongs and the use of sound spaces in special therapeutic contexts.

It showed just how diverse the world of gongs and sound instruments has become and how many different ways they are used today.

From product page to real sound experience

We brought along a selection of wind gongs, tam-tams, Zen and full moon singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, a 15 kg Big Bowl, tinzas, chimes, tuning forks and various mallets, including GSH mallets and the Olli Hess Earthtone Thomann Edition.

One of the best parts was seeing how much visitors enjoyed trying out the instruments, comparing them and discussing their questions directly with our team. Many already knew Thomann and were excited to experience products live that they had only seen online before. Others used the opportunity to meet us in person and learn more about our range in Treppendorf.

Connecting with the sound community

The exchange with participants, manufacturers and the organising team was also very valuable for us. Many conversations focused on the practical use of the instruments, suitable mallets, transport solutions and which sound colours work best for different applications.

One lovely example was the visit of musician Nadia Birkenstock, after trying it out, took home a 5-inch crystal singing chalice because it matched her work on stage and in vocal coaching perfectly. Moments like this show how important it is not only to see sound instruments, but to truly hear and feel them.

For us, the 2nd Gong Symposium was an inspiring weekend full of sound, exchange and personal encounters. We are taking many impressions and impulses back to Treppendorf and would like to warmly thank Sapurana e.V. for the organisation, as well as everyone who stopped by our stand, tested the instruments and shared their experiences with us.
