An International Stage for Our Instruments
From July 23 to 27, 2025, we participated in the European Music Therapy Conference (EMTC 2025) in Hamburg as a key partner and exhibitor. For our Classic Drums and String Instruments departments, it was a unique opportunity to present our instruments for music therapy to an international audience of professionals and to gain exciting insights into the latest developments in the field of music therapy.
This year’s conference centered around the theme “Bridges”, aiming to foster dialogue between various disciplines, fields, and perspectives. We embraced this concept in our exhibition space by showcasing a wide range of traditional sound instruments that can be used therapeutically in diverse contexts.
Diversity to Explore and Experience
From singing bowls and handpans over TamTam and wind gongs to tanpuras, harp lyres and Orff instruments — we didn’t just display our products, we invited visitors to engage in conversations about their use, share experiences, and explore new ideas in music therapy. We were also delighted to be joined by Achim Goike of Goike Gong, who enriched our stand with his expertise. On Saturday, he supported us on-site and delivered two well-attended talks on the art of gong making. Among other things, Achim crafts the symphonic and planetary gongs we distribute under our Thomann Symphonic Gongs brand. It’s always a genuine pleasure to meet our partners face-to-face and strengthen our direct connection.
Connections, Conversations and New Impulses
We were especially pleased by the strong interest shown by the many visitors who explored our instruments and learned about their application in therapeutic settings.
For us, EMTC 2025 was more than just a successful conference, it was a place of connection, inspiration, and learning. We had many exciting conversations with therapists and are taking home valuable impulses, both for our product range and for continued dialogue with the professional community.
