Loud, colorful, musical: Thomann Kids’ Day with Heavysaurus

What happens when 36 music-loving kids and a dino metal band come together at Thomann in Treppendorf? Exactly: it gets loud—and super, super cool! Our campus hosted an exclusive Kids’ Day—an event for children aged 8 to 14 that had just about everything to make young music lovers’ hearts beat faster.

The day kicked off at our t.kitchen with a short welcome. From there, the kids split into small groups and headed straight to their first stop. Each group rotated through three creative stations where it wasn’t just about watching—it was all about getting hands-on and joining in.

Interactive Stations for Young Talents

Station 1: Camera Rolling – Interview with the Dinos!
At our video studio, the kids got a behind-the-scenes look at how a video shoot works—from handling the camera and lighting to managing audio, conducting interviews, and even hosting on camera. The absolute highlight: the children got to ask questions to a member of HeavySaurus—the legendary dino metal band that came especially for Kids’ Day. If you’ve ever wondered how a dino holds a mic with four claws or whether dinosaurs get stage fright, this was the place to find out!

Station 2: Ukulele Art in the Guitar Workshop
Next stop: our guitar workshop, where things got creative and colorful. Here, the kids had the chance to design their very own ukulele—using stickers, markers, and loads of imagination. The result? Dozens of one-of-a-kind instruments that are sure to inspire band formations and first original songs in kids’ bedrooms very soon.

Station 3: Music Programming with the “Human Beat Machine”
Then came the room filled with futuristic buttons, microphones, and dancing beats: together with Johannes Marx, who joined us with his project “Human Beat Machine,” the kids explored the world of electronic sound. They created, looped, distorted, and mixed their own beats. Spoiler alert: the kids turned out to be total naturals.

The Grand Finale: HeavySaurus Live!

And then—drumroll and guitar amps cranked to 11—it was time for the grand finale: a 90-minute live concert by HeavySaurus on our PA stage right in the middle of the Thomann Shop!

The band, Germany’s answer to the original Finnish concept, is made up of four dinosaurs and one dragon: Mr. Heavysaurus, Milli Pilli, Muffi Puffi, Riffi Raffi, and Komppi Momppi. Their music? Loud, loving, and totally kid-friendly metal and rock. The setlist included fan favorites like “Kaugummi ist mega!” (“Chewing Gum is Awesome!”), “Pommesgabel” (“Fries Fork” as an allusion to the Devil Horns”), “Flugsaurier” (“Flying Dinosaur”), and “Dinos woll’n euch tanzen seh’n” (“Dinosaurs Want to See You Dance”). It was a high-energy dino show that had even the grown-ups dancing along—no one could stand still!

Little People, Big Dreams

The Kids’ Day at Thomann wasn’t just a musical adventure for the whole family—it became a stage for creative minds and future music stars. Our goal was to send young rockers home tired but beaming with big dreams—and we nailed it. The music enthusiasts of tomorrow were selected from many applications and got to spend a day exploring a wide range of musical themes with enthusiasm. With a HeavySaurus takeover on our Instagram channel, additional content on TikTok, an aftermovie, and a livestream of the closing concert on YouTube and HeavySaurus’ Instagram, fans everywhere were able to experience the special day we created.

This definitely won’t be the last Kids’ Day at Thomann. Stay curious—there’s more to come! Until then, remember: music knows no age, only passion. So dare to be loud, make some noise, and show the world your sound!
